Town hall chiefs have branded a decision to ban magistrates from serving on police and crime panels as 'nonsensical'.

Town hall chiefs have branded a decision to ban magistrates from serving on police and crime panels as 'nonsensical'.

Lord Justice Golding yesterday banned magistrates from standing for election as police and crime commissioners or serving on the new police and crime panels.
