Barnet staff win landmark TUPE ruling

More than 150 Barnet LBC staff in line for payouts after tibunal rules failure to disclose agency staff numbers breached TUPE law.

More than 150 Barnet LBC staff are set to receive payouts amounting to hundreds of thousands of pounds following a landmark ruling, which will force councils to divulge the number of agency staff on their books when outsourcing services.

An Employment Tribunal in Watford yesterday judged Barnet had breached updated TUPE regulations by failing to inform trade union Unison how many agency workers the authority employed.
