Bailiffs are due to start the £18m eviction of hundreds of travellers from the controversial Dale Farm caravan site in Essex today.

The traveller families and their supporters have erected makeshift defences, including scaffold blockades and brick walls and some are said to be 'locking on' or chaining themselves to caravans and other fixed objects.
