BASW: Jail threat will make children less safe

The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) has warned that the threat to jail public servants for failing to protect children will make them less safe.

The British Association of Social Workers (BASW) has warned that the threat to jail public servants for failing to protect children will make them less safe.

In an open letter to chief social worker for children and families, Isabelle Trowler, BASW called for her to provide ‘strong cross-party advice' against the proposals to extend wilful neglect criminal charges to cover children's social care.
