Call for beefed up health and wellbeing boards

Health and wellbeing boards should be given the power to commission services, hold budgets and force local partners to take part in the integration process, the County Councils’ (CCN) Network has said.

Health and wellbeing boards should be given the power to commission services, hold budgets and force local partners to take part in the integration process, the County Councils' (CCN) Network has said.

In a submission to the health select committee, CCN said the Government should give the boards increased powers in the short-term to ‘facilitate efficient and effective integration'.
