Why Beeston's blockbuster could spark many sequels

A state-of-the-art cinema is at the heart of the Beeston Square development in Broxtowe. Ruth Hyde says reinventing the retail past is not an option, and a ‘willingness to take sizeable risks’ was crucial.

When you see a film, it hopefully comes across as an engrossing, 90-minute spectacle. But what got you and your popcorn into a cinema in the first place was years of planning, months of production and a multi-million investment by people who know their audience.

We are hoping the Beeston Square development in Broxtowe will deliver many years of entertainment – not least because it, too, centres on a development that has a state-of-the-art big screen cinema at its heart.
