Betts critical of UC failings

Clive Betts, has hit out at the Government over the lack of preparation for the switch to universal credits.

The chair of the CLG select committee, Clive Betts, has hit out at the Government over the lack of preparation for the switch to universal credits.

Speaking to The MJ, Mr Betts claimed there was a catalogue of extra burdens put on local authorities by the changes including potential arrears from rents and council tax, the cost of educating tenants of changes and the local administration of the social fund.
