The fortunes of local government come and go – but sometimes it feels like the fortunes just go.

And so the Budget was not one to disappoint as the chancellor stepped up to announce a fiscal plan for the future…stability for the next generation. Beware of politicians claiming to be doing things ‘for our children…' it usually just means that there will be pain to come.
