Experts this week slammed the Government's ‘bewildering' approach to development, after chancellor George Osborne demanded a fresh overhaul of the planning system – just months after the last set of reforms.

As part of his revised plans to kick-start the moribund UK economy, Mr Osborne revealed last weekend that new legislation would come before Parliament ‘in the next couple of weeks, to speed up planning decisions'.
