Big Society or just big cuts?

The failure of the Government's Big Society vision should not mark the end of collaboration between councils and the third sector, says Anna Turley MP

When the ‘Big Society' vision was revealed almost six years ago, the aims of the project gave reason for optimism that a flourishing civil society would play a greater role in the delivery of public services.

For local government, partnerships with community and voluntary organisations would deliver high quality services, utilising the specialist knowledge and talent of the sector.
