Biggs wins Tower Hamlets mayoral election re-run

Labour’s John Biggs has become the directly elected mayor of Tower Hamlets in a re-run of the election to find a replacement for Lutfur Rahman.

Labour's John Biggs has become the directly elected mayor of Tower Hamlets in a re-run of the election to find a replacement for Lutfur Rahman.

Mr Biggs won 32,754 votes on a second preference vote weeks after an Election Commissioner found Mr Rahman guilty of electoral fraud and removed him from office.
