Birmingham City Council assistant chief executive Piali Das Gupta is to leave the authority to join senior officer body Solace as head of policy, The MJ has learned. 

The move follows recent high profile staff changes at the authority, including the sudden departure of former chief executive Mark Rogers in February and the appointment of Stella Manzie as interim chief last month.
