Sir Albert Bore, leader of Birmingham City Council, has joined a growing group of local authority experts seeking to end borrowing restrictions on the Housing Revenue Account.

Speaking to local newspapers, Sir Albert said Birmingham must borrow more than £2bn to meet demand for up to 80,000 new houses by 2031.
