Birmingham City Council elects new Labour leader

Cllr John Clancy has been elected as the new leader of Birmingham City Council by the authority’s Labour Group.

Cllr John Clancy has been elected as the new leader of Birmingham City Council by the authority's Labour Group.

He will succeed Sir Albert Bore, who steps down next week after eight years leading the local authority and 16 at the helm of the local Labour Group.
