Birmingham should cut its councillors, says Boundary Commission

Birmingham City Council should cut the number of councillors to 100, 20 less than it currently has, according to the Local Government Boundary Commission.

Birmingham City Council should cut the number of councillors to 100, 20 less than it currently has, according to the Local Government Boundary Commission. 

Chair of the commission, Max Caller, said: ‘Our judgment is that 100 councillors is the right number to provide effective local government for Birmingham.
