Birmingham seat goes to Labour

The British National Party has lost its seat on Birmingham City Council after a High Court ruled it did not win the election in May.

Election officials declared the BNP candidate, Sharon Ebanks, as the winner in the Kingstanding ward before later announcing they had made a mistake. As the announcment had been made by officials a court judgement was required to overturn it and Labour candidate Catherine Grundy has now been declared the winner.
