Call to bolster housing enforcement powers

Quality in the private rented sector (PRS) will not rise unless councils have the capacity for vigorous enforcement, the House of Commons' Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Committee has said.

In a new report looking at the Government's proposed reforms to the sector, the committee said there were currently significant ‘obstacles to effective enforcement'.
