Blackpool MP Gordon Marsden has accused the NHS of wasting millions of pounds on ‘boomerang' redundancy payments, as it prepares for re-organisation.

Mr Marsden claimed £500,000 had been spent making staff redundant at his local trust, NHS Blackpool, and that more than £11m was being held back from patient care to fund the changes, which came into force next year.
