Local government secretary Robert Jenrick has agreed to talks on the role and functions of a new committee of leaders from across Yorkshire.

It is understood that the committee would not be a separate new body but a ‘strengthened and resourced' version of the existing Yorkshire Leaders Board, which meets informally at the moment.
