London mayor, Boris Johnson, could be handed powers to run the capital's ambulance service to improve performance, members of the London Assembly have advised.

The London Assembly's health and public services committee launched an investigation into how the Government's health reforms would affect the capital and warned the ambulance service would come under pressure.
