Boroughs launch ALMO to deliver kids' services

Neighbouring boroughs Richmond and Kingston are set to form a joint social enterprise to deliver children’s services.

Neighbouring boroughs Richmond-upon-Thames and Kingston-upon Thames are set to form a ground-breaking joint social enterprise to deliver children's services.

Plans involve the transfer of services such as adoption, fostering, children's centres and special education needs to an arm's-length management organisation (ALMO), named Achieving for Children, staffed by senior officers from both south-west London boroughs.
