Councils have urged trade union Unison to reconsider after it announced a further strike later this year as part of continuing demonstrations over pay.

Unison today revealed a strike will take place in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on Tuesday 30 September after an estimated one million public service workers took part in national protests on 10 July.
