Breaking down public sector silos

A programme in Nottingham is bringing public sector leaders together to better understand how their own challenges relate to the city as a whole. James Rhodes and Jonathan Rycroft explain.

The Nottinghamshire leadership transformation programme was co-created by Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Nottinghamshire Police and Nottingham Business School – part of Nottingham Trent University – specifically to tackle the needs of the city and its organisations.

Designed and delivered by experienced leadership and management academics at the business school, the aim of the programme is to develop skills while breaking down silos and encouraging leaders across Nottingham's core public services to work together and understand their own needs in relation to those of the city.
