Brent LBC has begun a public consultation over its localised council tax benefit scheme - which could see most working-age claimants paying a minimum contribution.

Early financial estimates indicate Brent faces a £5.2m funding shortfall from total £35.5m CTB expenditure when it takes responsibility next April for administering the benefit – which will be cut by 10% in cash terms nationally.
