Brent LBC has launched a public consultation over its future council tax benefit (CTB) scheme, which could end with most working-age claimants paying a minimum contribution to the local tax.

Early financial estimates indicate Brent faces a £5.2m funding shortfall from total CTB expenditure of £35.5m when it takes responsibility for administering the benefit from next April.
