Senior Middlesbrough councillors have been warned that the potential economic damage arising from Britain leaving the EU could derail its strategy for regeneration and renewal. 

Senior Middlesbrough councillors have been warned that the potential economic damage arising from Britain leaving the EU could derail its strategy for regeneration and renewal. 

A report to a meeting of the council's executive next week said Brexit could endanger the council's £720m investment strategy, which is a major driver of its efforts to build new revenue streams and improve the city after many years of stagnation and decline.
