Brighton and Hove Council’s ruling Green Party councillors announce plans to hold a council tax referendum, with a view to raising local charges by 4.75%.

Brighton and Hove Council's ruling Green Party councillors have announced plans to hold a local council tax referendum, with a view to raising local charges by 4.75%, it has emerged.

The country's only Green Party led authority claim the extra money raised would be used to fund adult social care services, care for the elderly and grants to third sector bodies and sports programmes.
