Budget 2012: Charities slam Budget for not helping third sector

Charities have criticised George Osborne for failing to deliver on tackling youth unemployment or promoting the Big Society.

Charities have criticised chancellor George Osborne for failing to deliver on tackling youth unemployment or promoting the Big Society in yesterday's Budget.

The chief executive of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action, Joe Irvin, said the Budget should have gone further to help third sector groups, who are facing a 'double whammy' of increased demand and public sector spending cuts.
