Since being elected in June 2015, I have been working with members and officers across the council to address the issues that led to the Government's intervention in December 2014 under the previous mayor.

It is a big task but I have been reassured by the fact our services remain good or excellent in many areas, by the dedication of excellent staff, by a good cabinet and largely new management team.
