Building a legacy

Councils must help decide the legacy future of the buildings created for the 2012 Olympics.

David Higgins, chief executive of the 2012 Delivery Authority, warned decisions needed to be taken, but pledged councils would not carry the costs.

‘It's not going to be a financial penalty on the boroughs. They need to negotiate with the London Development Agency over legacy,' he said.
