As we prepare for Brexit, local government’s role in boosting growth will become even more crucial. Heather Jameson looks at the latest report from think tank Localis on delivering the industrial strategy.

On its launch, the industrial strategy was the great hope of the Government for economic growth in the post-Brexit era. But despite the best efforts of Whitehall, it cannot be driven entirely from the centre – it will rely on places to drive the strategy on the ground.

The latest report from think tank Localis describes the industrial strategy as a ‘set piece policy agenda' designed to deliver on the prime minister's promise to build an economy that works for everyone, in response to the ‘quiet revolution' that was the Brexit referendum vote.
