Oxfordshire CC chief executive, faced calls to resign from her post amid public fury over child sex ring case in Oxford.

Oxfordshire CC chief executive, Joanna Simons, faced calls to resign from her post last week amid public fury after seven men were convicted of running a child sex ring in Oxford.

Ms Simons admitted the council had to take some responsibility for what had happened. But she insisted it was better to remain in her post and learn from the mistakes that had occurred in order to ensure such an event never happened again in the city.
