Business rate revaluation postponed for two years

Ministers have postponed a revaluation of business rates until April 2023 and issued consultation on the wider rating system.

Ministers have postponed a revaluation of business rates until April 2023 and issued consultation on the wider rating system.

The announcement follows an earlier decision by the Government in May to postpone the revaluation, which was due in 2021, because of the coronavirus but at the time it gave no specific alternative date. The next revaluation in two years will now be based on property values on 1 April 2021.
