Cabinet minsters' councils seeing 'least amount of cuts'

The three councils with the smallest cuts to their budgets are all in areas with key cabinet ministers, analysis from Labour has claimed.

Shadow communities minister Jon Trickett branded it ‘disgraceful’ that Wokingham BC, Surrey CC and Windsor and Maidenhead RBC had seen the lowest budget cuts despite being the least deprived areas in the country.

These areas also cover the contituencies of home secretary Theresa May, health secretary Jeremy Hunt, leader of the House of Commons Chris Grayling, justice secretary Michael Gove and foreign secretary Philip Hammond.
