Business secretary Vince Cable has distanced himself from local enterprise partnerships (LEPs), saying he prefers City Deals because local authorities are more accountable.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Cable said ministers prefer City Deals 'where we are dealing with accountable city councils'and have legitimacy.
