The full cost of the senior officer pay scandal at Caerphilly CBC will top £2.5m, the local authority has admitted.

Caerphilly's revelation follows the announcement last month that the three men at the heart of the scandal – chief executive Anthony O'Sullivan, deputy chief executive Nigel Barnett and head of legal services Daniel Perkins – had their status changed from suspended to ‘on special paid leave' in May.
