Calling collaborative innovators

People with the skills for new public governance exist within local government, and senior management’s should identify them and also create the environment where they have space for their ideas to flourish.

Looking to the future, one theory that catches my attention is that of ‘collaborative innovation'. It's part of the move away from concepts around new public management and towards ideas for new public governance.

While new public management focused on markets, competition and customers and delivered benefits for some, it failed to deliver innovation for the public themselves.
