The new ministerial line up at Marsham Street should simplify the ‘complicated' local government finance system, a top auditor has said.

In an interview with The MJ, the National Audit Office's (NAO) director for Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) value for money, Aileen Murphie, added her voice to a growing view that the funding system is in urgent need of reform.
