Cambridgeshire CC will deploy the social care precept amid a freeze on council tax, following widespread support for the rise from local councils.

It risked becoming the only county in the country to have waived the 2% tax rise for the funding of health and social care services when an amendment to set the precept on top of a 1.99% council tax rise was voted down earlier in the day.
