Prime minister David Cameron has defended free schools in a speech today, calling opponents 'defenders of a failing establishment'.

Prime minister David Cameron has defended free schools in a speech today, calling opponents 'defenders of a failing establishment'.

Mr Cameron also outlined some key proposals to drive up standards, stating the UK has to be 'ambitious' in education pointing to international competition from China and India.
