Anne Canning is the new director of education and head of Hackney Learning Trust at Hackney LBC.

Ms Canning has worked as a maths teacher and headteacher in schools across London for 30 years, before becoming service head for learning and achievement at Tower Hamlets LBC, where she was responsible for raising educational standards.
