Cap on care is 'too complex'

LGA has warned plans to introduce a social care funding cap are ‘incredibly complicated' with a ‘challenging’ timetable'.

The Local Government Association (LGA) has warned that government plans to introduce a social care funding cap are ‘incredibly complicated' with a ‘challenging' timetable ahead.

Responding to the launch of the Department of Health's consultation on care costs, the chair of the LGA's community wellbeing board, Cllr Zoe Patrick said ‘it was an important next step on a journey to a reformed care and support system', but also added the proposals are ‘incredibly complicated. ‘The timetable for reform is extremely challenging,' said Cllr Patrick.
