Cardiff shelves plans to hire interim chief

Cardiff City Council has ditched plans to appoint former Westminster City Council chief executive Sir Peter Rogers as an interim chief.

Cardiff City Council has ditched plans to appoint former Westminster City Council chief executive Sir Peter Rogers as an interim chief.

The council's Cabinet last week threw out the plan. It follows concerns that Sir Peter's short-term appointment would prove costly. Sir Peter, who was also chief executive of the London Development Agency, was due to take over from Jon House who is leaving to join PWC, in July. His salary was to be paid by the Welsh Local Government Association.
