Cardiff u-turn on interim plans

Plans to hire Sir Peter Rogers as an interim chief at Cardiff City Council have been thrown out by the cabinet in a meeting today.

Plans to hire former Westminster City Council chief executive Sir Peter Rogers as an interim chief at Cardiff City Council have been thrown out by the cabinet in a meeting today.

Sir Peter, who was also chief executive of the London Development Agency, was due to take over from Jon House, who is leaving to join PWC, in July. His salary was to be paid by the Welsh Local Government Association.
