Care bosses have warned of the ‘unintended consequences’ of outsourcing children’s services, after a government commissioned report recommended transferring Doncaster MBC’s department.

Care bosses have warned of the ‘unintended consequences' of outsourcing children's services, after a government commissioned report recommended transferring Doncaster MBC's department.

The report by Professor Julian Le Grand recommends appointing a not-for-profit independent trust to provide all of the council's children's services except those currently being provided by the education department.

It recommends a single independent trust take on the responsibilities, and others over time, including children's public health services.
