Care funding 'wake-up call'

Councils have been urged to double the personal expenses allowance for older people in care, to tackle a funding shortfall crisis.

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) has been searching for a clear system for financing the growing demand for long-term care as the population ages, and a report released last week, Paying for long-term care, has highlighted five reforms which could reduce difficulties in the present system.
