Less care at a higher price, says Labour

The Labour Party has claimed councils have raised home care fees by an average of 10% since 2009.

Councils have raised home care fees by an average of 10% since 2009, but the number of people receiving care has dropped by a similar amount, the Labour Party has claimed.

A survey by the shadow health team found the number of older people to have their care fully paid by councils has decreased by 11% since 2009, while the average charge for an hour of home care has increased by 10%.
