Town hall bosses have called on the Labour Party to consider the role of independent and third sector care providers as part of its new health and care policy review.

Shadow health secretary Andy Burnham launched the review in a speech to the King's Fund think-tank on 24 January, which he said would look at the full integration of health and social care.
