Care reviews lead to calls for immediate improvement

Care services minister, Paul Burstow, has called on the NHS and councils to act immediately, after the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published a series of damming reviews of services for people with learning disabilities.

Mr Burstow warned ‘there can be no excuses' after four of the first five care homes to be inspected failed to meet essential care standards.
