Care minister Norman Lamb has confirmed the Government will be publishing details shortly on its plans to establish minimum standards for care home staff. The standards were first mentioned in last year's Care and Support White Paper.

A Department of Health spokesman said:'While there are many providers that deliver high quality care, more needs to be done to make improvements across the board.'There are no excuses for failing to keep people safe from abuse or not treating them with kindness, dignity and respect.'
